The video follows Amin as he wanders through churches and cathedrals across Europe, endlessly searching for traces of his mother’s fantom. Inside the vast space of Amiens Cathedral, he meets a mysterious man who questions him about spirits and reads to him from the Bible. As the reading unfolds, the organ begins to play, and the sound fills the monumental space. The architecture responds to the vibration: the sculptures tremble, the light shifts, and the labyrinth on the floor begins to glow.
Drawn into a trance-like state, Amin becomes part of the space. The labyrinth moves beneath him, lifting him upward before pulling him deep within. He crosses into another dimension a dreamlike space where sound, memory, and vision merge. In this ethereal realm, he encounters the ghost of his mother, her presence reconstructed through fragments of voice, image, and faith.
Amin is a meditative video about loss, belief, and the persistence of love. It reflects on how memory survives through sound and image, and how video can serve as a bridge between past and present, the visible and the unseen. Through a dialogue between personal memory and sacred architecture, the work transforms mourning into a cinematic act of remembrance and spiritual renewal.
