Whispers Of The Storm exhibition, Curated by Maria Ines Rodriguez, Cite International des arts, Paris, 2025, France.Mixed media Installation, Video, Mold sculpture, freezer
This work explore the fragility and dissolution of power through three interconnected elements: a freezer displaying AK-47 ice sculptures, a video of people struggling to carry these melting weapons, and a mold the hollow imprint of what once held form. Together, they reflect on impermanence, control, and the illusion of dominance.
My research questions where power truly lies: in the weapon’s form, its function, or the illusion of control it grants? During my military service, I often wondered if I was protecting my weapon, or was it protecting me? This question became even more unsettling when I encountered guns that didn’t work symbols of power that, in reality, only exposed human fragility. Projects like Habbakuk and Popeye operations reveal this illusion.
