Floating Spaces-Lost Paradise

Mixed media Installation, Union Libre Exhibition, Auch, 2024, France.

Floating Spaces – Lost Paradise explores the intersection of tradition, memory, and poetry through a choreography performed not by human bodies, but by tireless machines. Within the industrial setting of the Textiles Museum in Augsburg, the work challenges conventional notions of presence and embodiment, offering a reflection on the shifting dynamics of modern urban life.

The mechanical performers, moving in carefully orchestrated sequences, evoke both fascination and unease. Their gestures reveal an underlying commentary on the erosion of human connection within contemporary cityscapes where isolation and emotional detachment often replace communal bonds. Against this backdrop, the work uncovers hidden architectural elements of public space, proposing instead a vision of inclusivity, unity, and shared experience.

The museum itself becomes an integral part of the piece: its historic walls resonate with sound and movement, transforming into a living stage. Here, Bavarian cultural echoes merge with machine-driven rhythm, creating a poetic interplay between past and present, silence and song, human absence and collective memory.
